The Townsley Graduate Fellowships in Piano, Violin and Cello are awarded to entering or continuing master’s degree students in the Department of Music. All three fellows study privately with the members of the USD faculty Rawlins Piano Trio. Duties include activities as assigned by faculty or the Department Chair based on the expertise and goals of the individuals, and the needs of the Department of Music. These duties may include participation in the Townsley Graduate Piano Trio as applicable, with touring and performances in the region, assisting with keyboard and string area events, and teaching private lessons and/or classes. The fellows may be assigned to collaborative performance (pianist) or to play/assist with department string ensembles (strings). Stipend: Up to $8000 per year, based on audition.
